Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a technology that automates repetitive and manual tasks by using software robots. The implementation of RPA in an organization requires a well-defined process to ensure successful deployment and operation of RPA solutions. The RPA life cycle consists of the following phases:

Assessment and Planning:

The first phase of the RPA life cycle involves identifying the processes that are suitable for automation and evaluating their current state. This includes defining the scope of the project, setting goals, and establishing a project plan.

Design and Development:

In this phase, the RPA solution is designed and developed based on the requirements gathered in the assessment phase. The design includes identifying the software robots, creating workflows, and defining rules and exceptions.

Testing and Validation:

Once the design is complete, the solution is tested to ensure it meets the requirements and works as expected. This phase involves testing the solution in a controlled environment and validating it through a series of tests.

Deployment:

In this phase, the RPA solution is deployed in a live environment. This includes setting up the infrastructure, configuring the robots, and integrating the solution with the existing systems.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

After deployment, the RPA solution needs to be monitored and maintained to ensure it operates optimally. This includes tracking performance, fixing bugs, and making any necessary changes to the solution.

Optimization:

The final phase of the RPA life cycle involves continuously optimizing the solution based on feedback and results. This includes making improvements to the process, adding new capabilities, and scaling the solution to meet changing needs.

By following a structured RPA life cycle, organizations can ensure the success of their RPA implementation and realize the full benefits of automating their manual processes.
